About Foragers Foods
Foragers is a family-run farm and food business run by Gary & Jo McAlpine and located on the western edge of Stirlingshire in central Scotland. We're 20 miles north of Glasgow near the beautiful villages of Drymen, Balfron and Killearn and just outside of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.

Our Farm
Our farm is situated on an established wildflower and grass meadow so biodiversity is very much at the heart of our enterprise. As well as growing and producing great tasting products we also strive to provide a rich, foraging haven for the struggling wild bumblebee and many other insects and creatures that have lost much of their natural habitats in recent decades. By helping them, they will help us grow quality products high in flavour.

Scottish Chillies
We grow a variety of chillies including; Palivec (Czech for the spicy one), Ohnivec (the fiery one) and Jalapeño. They are cultivated the old-fashioned way directly in soil, and using natural growing methods to maximise chilli flavour.
All our chilli plants are propagated here on the farm from seed produced in the UK. Harvesting starts around late July and continues right up to late November. During this time fresh chillies are sold through various local outlets.
Our chillies and apples are the star ingredient in some tasty hand-made products. More info >>>

Fresh Culinary Herbs
These are available in season and include; French Tarragon, Chives, Curly Parsley, Fennel, Thyme, Rosemary, Oregano and Lemon Balm. More info >>>

Future plans
The Foragers Cider Orchard was planted in 2015 in an old wildflower meadow. The young trees are maturing year on year and our long term goal is to produce and sell craft cider using the nine varieties of cider apples from the orchard.
