Freshly-cut Fennel Fronds & Flowers
Fennel has an aniseed flavour. A versatile herb, it marries perfectly with fish or pork, and can be added to salads. The flowers have an intense aniseed flavour.
Serving suggestions: Roll cream cheese stuffed smoked salmon in finely chopped fennel for a delightful snack or starter. Steam or roast fish with a frond of fennel and butter inside a tinfoil wrap. Sprinkle chopped fennel over burgers, sausages, fried potatoes; anything really.
1 tablespoon of chopped fresh fennel will flavour 500g of minced meat.
Please note that Fennel is a delicate herb so can appear limp after it is cut, but this does not impact on flavour and usage.
Keep in paper bag, store in fridge and use within 2 days.
